S P I R I T . M I N D . B O D Y . C O R D E C H O 1 7 Though COVID-19 postponed SHA’s annual Alumnae Weekend, not even a pandemic could stop our graduates from celebrating their sisterhood. The Class of 1995 regularly gets together for dinner and drinks. Physical distancing measures have made those gatherings more challenging. Virtual happy hours and hangouts have replaced in-person get-togethers for now. Even their 25th class reunion was held virtually. Class Reunions in the Time of COVID-19 1995 1968 1970 The Class of 1968 got together on June 29, 2020, 52 years to the day since they graduated from Sacred Heart Academy. Lawn chairs placed six feet apart in SHA’s shady backyard and video calls from Arizona, Florida, California, Georgia, and even Italy brought this class together for a memorable evening celebrating friendships and their recent or upcoming 70th birthdays. This year, the Class of 1970 celebrated 50 years since they crossed the stage and received their diplomas. Though they were disappointed they could not celebrate with dinner, drinks, and a tour of Buffalo - which has changed a lot since they graduated - women from all over the United States joined a Zoom reunion on May 30, 2020, the original date of their celebration.
