After graduating from Sacred Heart Academy, she joined the Holy Spirit Missionary Sisters and lived near Chicago in Cook County, IL where she worked as a teacher in a parochial school. She passed away in 1974 and is buried at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Northbrook, IL. Sr. Lucian Severa Wagner, OSF entered the convent to become a siste r of St. Francis in 1920. She worked in Buffalo, NY as a teacher at St. Ann’s Rectory Convent school before moving to the Sacred Heart province in Denver, CO in 1939. Sr. Lucian passed away on November 21, 1983. Angelico Lascola Lanasa was born in Buffalo, NY in 1902. Her parents emigrated from Italy and raised a large family in the United States. After graduating from Sacred Heart Academy, she married Samuel Lanasa on July 23, 1928. She passed away on March 24, 1956 at the age of 54. Frances Marlinska Mazierski was born on July 25, 1904 in New York State. After graduating from SHA, she worked as a stenographer and married WilliamH. Mazierski on September 22, 1926. She passed away in December, 1985 at 81 years of age. The graduates of the Class of 1920 not only survived the Spanish Flu pandemic but were also some of the first women granted the right to vote. The paths they took after graduating from Sacred Heart Academy primarily centered around motherhood, secretarial work, and religious life.
