She worked in banking for two years before deciding to continue her education at Kent State. She is currently studying for amaster’s in higher education and administration, while serving as a graduate assistant in Kent State’s Student Multicultural Center. Sydney Schmidt ’15 returned to Sacred Heart as the Advancement Associate for Alumnae and Events. Julianne Taggart ’15 graduated fromSt. Bonaventure in 2019 and is working at IngramMicro. Sara Bennett ’16 graduated fromDuquesne University with her Bachelor of Science in environmental science and aminor in biology. ElizabethGraziano ’16 graduated with her Master of Science in education fromBuffalo State College and began working on her PhD in English at Binghamton University this past fall. MadisonKoons ’16 graduated with a Bachelor of Science in pharmaceutical sciences and is working on earning a Doctor of Pharmacy degree at University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy. She was inducted into Rho Chi Society which encourages and recognizes excellence in intellectual achievement and advocates critical inquiry in all aspects of pharmacy. Lauryn Saldana ’16 received an MBA fromCanisius College in May 2021 with a concentration in finance. She is currently working as amarketing specialist. Emma Shabala ’16 will be completing her 5th year at Gannon University and will receive a Master of Science in occupational therapy. Victoria Bauda ’17 graduated Magna CumLaude with a BS in biology fromNiagara University. She was inducted into the Eta Xi Chapter of the Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society. Claire Coughlin ’17 graduated Magna CumLaude from Binghamton University with a BS in biomedical engineering, minoring inmathematics, and just started her position as a Quality Engineer at Integer Holdings Corporation this fall. Madison Folsom ’17 completed her degree in biology at Canisius College and applied to the Physician’s Assistant programat Canisius. Catherine Gazda ’17 completed the 4+1 Programat D’Youville with a BS in biology and anMS in anatomy. Mia Giannini ’17 graduated from the University at Buffalo with a BS in environmental geoscience and is currently pursuing amaster’s degree in sustainability leadership. OliviaHansen ’17 received her AAS degree in radiologic technology fromNiagara County Community College and currently works at Windsong Radiology where she loves her job. Julianna Kersten ’17 will complete her BS in biomedical engineering at Purdue University in December 2021. Emily Kirkpatrick ’17 received her BS inmarketing fromLoyola University Maryland and has been accepted into M&T Bank’s Management Development program in the Business Banking Department. KristinKolmetz ’17 graduated from the University at Buffalo with a BA in English and sociology. Alana Leveritte ’17 graduated fromNiagara University with her bachelor’s degree in communications and was inducted into the Niagara University President’s Society inMay 2021. She was the recipient of the NU Multicultural Affairs Advisory Board (MAAB) Leader with Distinction Award as well as the BrianMurphy Memorial Award for social justice. Briana LoTempio ’17 graduated with her BS in public health from Nazareth College. GraceMacKinnon ’17 received her BS in science fromNazareth College last May. She is currently working on her master’s degree in occupational therapy. LouisaMancuso ’17 graduated Summa CumLaude with a BS in finance fromSyracuse University. Louisa was inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society and has accepted a job with Ernst & Young in New York City as a structured finance analyst. ElisabethManente ’17 graduated fromNiagara University with a BS in business administration, majoring inmarketing and communications. She is continuing at NU for amaster’s in strategic management. SarahMcMahan ’17 received her BA inmathematics fromSUNY College at Geneseo inMay 2021 and is working toward anMS degree in cybersecurity at Canisius College. JessieMiller ’17 completed two BS degrees at Michigan State University in astrophysics & astronomy as well as physics. She alsominored in data science and computational mathematics, science and engineering. She began her PhD studies in astrophysics at the California Institute of Technology in the fall of 2021, fully funded. Jessie works in research onmillisecond pulsars, binary black holes, fast radio bursts and is helping design a newUV telescope for a NASA proposal. Her work has been published as first-author articles in peer-review journals, such as the Astrophysical Journal. Angelica Priest ’17 graduated from the University of Michigan with a BA in public policy. She will be working for the Federal Reserve in Washington, DC. Delilah Przybyla ’17 received her BA in biology from the University of Rochester inMay 2021 and is pursuing her MFA in biomedical visualization at the University of Illinois Chicago. Caroline Reeb ’17 graduated with a BS in biology fromNiagara University. Mary Rola ’17 graduated from University at Buffalo with a BS in industrial engineering and a minor in human factors. She will start a position at Ortho Clinical Diagnostics as a User Experience Engineer in January 2022. Gianna Santora ’17 graduated from The Salon Professional Academy in November 2020 and is a licensed esthetician. Gianna owns her own home business, “Esthetics by Gianna.” Sharon Stack ’17 received a bachelor’s degree in computer science fromUniversity at Buffalo. She is pursuing her certificate in video game development with a Sarah Krieger ’17 graduated from SHA with a 4-year national scholarship to pursue nursing with Army ROTC (Reserve Officers’ Training Corps) at the University of Kentucky. She graduated from the UK nursing programwith a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and was commissioned into the United States Army Nurse Corps as a Second Lieutenant in May of 2021. She passed the board exam for nurses, also known as the NCLEX, soon after graduation. She plans to pursue the career path of becoming a 66S (Critical Care/ICU), but is open and looking forward to the amazing plan the Lord has for her! “A special thank you to Mrs. Clare for supporting me along my journey thus far. I will never forget sitting in her classroom the day of my interview for the scholarship in tears because I was told that the possibility of getting a full scholarship into an Army ROTC program as a nursing student was slim. To ensure that the values of St. Francis continue to light their sponsored institutions, including Sacred Heart, Sister Patricia McMahon, OSF ‘63 has been named Mission Integration Minister. In this role, Sister Pat will be an ongoing resource for SHA faculty, staff, students and Board of Directors. She looks forward to working collaboratively to find new ways of expressing and living out the Franciscan mission.
