Lori Shepherd ‘02 married Bradley Kern in a private outdoor ceremony on Canandaigua Lake August 8, 2020. The couple was engaged in March 2020. Jamie Schaefer ‘03 attended via Zoom as the virtual Maid of Honor. Alison Hejmowski ’05 married Craig Goergen at Our Lady of Pompeii Church with a reception that followed at The Roycroft Inn. Kathryn Bezbatchenko ’11 married Kevin Mora on September 26, 2020 in Akron, Ohio. Kaitley Wozer ’11 was in the wedding party. Katelyn Kaiser ‘12 married Nicholas Schulz in July 2021. MeghanMusialowski ’12 was married June 20, 2020. She had several SHA alumnae as bridesmaids: Mary Kate Musialowski ‘16, Mary Kate O’Connor’ 12 and Jackie Graber ’12. Emily Biniszkiewicz ‘14 married Paul Volpe on October 23, 2021 at St. Mary’s Church, Swormville. She was joined by her sister, Jessica ’12 (maid of honor), and bridesmaids Dana Bartolomeo ‘14, Leah Calandra ’14, and Anna (D’Aloise) Ieraci ’14. Chelsea Brodka ’14 married Dominic Buttino in July 2021. AnnaMaria D’Aloise ‘14 married Jonathan Glynn Ieraci on July 11, 2020 at Niagara University Chapel. A reception was held at the Admiral Room at the Marin, Buffalo, NY. Engagement Renee Fregeau ’12 became engaged to Stewart Thomas in September 2020. They met at John Caroll University and plan to be married in October 2022. Sydney Schmidt ’15 is engaged to Brian Chambrone and plans to be married in October 2022. Sister Dolores Marie Schmidt, OSF Sister Dolores Marie Schmidt, OSF was a fixture at Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart for many years. As an active member of the Finance Department, she was a regular presence at 3860 Main Street through February 2020. She returned to God on July 4, 2021 at the age of 96. Sister Dolores entered the Sisters of St. Francis of Penance and Christian Charity in September 1941. She earned a bachelor’s degree fromCanisius College and master’s degree from the University of Notre Dame. She spent much of her life serving as a high school and elementary school educator. Sister Dolores is remembered fondly by all of her colleagues at SHA, especially Jen Sikora with whom she shared an office. Jen and many of Sister Dolores’ colleagues were always impressed by her dogged determination, positive attitude and fabulous sense of humor.
