Sandi made an indelible impression on her classmates and almost instantly they felt compelled to create an enduring memorial to her. As Melanie McHugh ‘99 and Kelly Shuster ‘99 were planning activities for their 25th reunion celebration, they did so with a heavy heart, knowing that Sandi would not be with them. Melanie and Kelly turned that sadness into purpose by initiating a fund that could be used to honor Sandi and help future girls attend Sacred Heart. With the full support of the Class of 1999 and Sandi’s family, they raised over $10,000. A member of the incoming class of 2029 will be the first recipient of the Class of 1999 Scholarship in Memory of Sandra Vitthuhn. The endowed scholarship will live in perpetuity, and a SHA student will continually be supported through the generosity of Sandi’s friends and family. The Class of 1999 celebrated their classmate, Sandi Vitthuhn, as part of their reunion activities. Sandra Vitthuhn ‘99
